These Bel-Art reusable silica gel desiccant cartridges eliminate the mess of loose desiccant. The silica gel inside the canister absorbs moisture through perforations. Easily view desiccant to determine when it needs regeneration. Choose from two options-desiccant canister with Desi-Can silica gel or desiccant cartridges with silica gel. The canister maintains a safe level of humidity in 0.09 cubic meter (3 cubic ft.) of space. It is ideal for use in closets, containers, toolboxes, camera cases and other storage areas to prevent rust and moisture. It can be regenerated in a 150º C (300º F) oven in about 3 hours for unlimited life. The cartridges are highly porous mesh membranes that cover the desiccant and dish, providing excellent absorption. These fit “Space Saver” desiccators, in addition to other plastic desiccators of similar size. Desiccant can be easily regenerated by heating cartridges in a 50°C (122°F) oven overnight or at 100°C (212°F) for 6 hours. For more rapid drying, remove the membrane lid, transfer the spent gel crystals into a glass or porcelain dish, and place in a 150°C (300°F) oven for one hour.
