Description: The Big Eye Squirrelfish is a predatory fish that can be vibrant red or light indigo in color. This fish comes from deeper, rocky reefs in the Western Atlantic and the Caribbean. This fish is nocturnal, and their big eyes help them see in dark, deeper waters. This fish should be kept in a larger fish-only or FOWLR aquarium with other large, semi-aggressive fish. The Big Eye Squirrelfish is an opportunistic predator and will eat any small fish or invertebrate that can fit in its large mouth. This fish will appreciate plenty of rockwork, as they are used to residing in caves or under overhangs. Feed a variety of large, meaty frozen foods. This fish is a great pick for beginner aquarists who are keeping large tanks with semi-aggressive fish.
